step into someone else’s imagination

objective:

use curiosity to invent, explore, and inhabit imaginary worlds—strengthening empathy, perspective-shifting, and creative inquiry.

instructions:

  1. introduce the prompt: imagine you’ve just received a postcard from a world no one has ever heard of.
  2. describe a made-up place, such as:
    1. a city where people speak only in dance
    2. a desert where books grow on trees
    3. an island run entirely by children
    4. a sky village where memories are traded like currency
  3. ask each person to take turns describing the place in more detail—its logic, beauty, rules, or daily life.
  4. now, ask your buddy: what question would you ask someone who lives there?
  5. once the question is asked, respond in character—as if you live in that world, using its unique logic, values, and voice.

optional twist:

build on each other’s worlds, forming a connected galaxy of imagined realities. close by reflecting on:

  • how it felt to explore a world through someone else’s imagination
  • what surprised you
  • what insights about real-world perspectives emerged through play
