activity guide

objective:

work together in lines to move a ball from the front to the back of the team using only paper—fast, fun, and full of teamwork chaos.

materials:

1 lightweight ball per team (ping pong ball, crumpled paper, soft toy ball, etc.), 1 A4 (or letter = 8.5in x 11in) sheet of paper per person

instructions:

  1. form teams of 10–20 people and have each team stand in a single file line (front to back).
  2. give each person one sheet of A4 (letter, 8.5x11) paper.
  3. the person at the front starts with the ball on their paper.
  4. the team’s task:
    1. pass the ball to the back of the line using only their paper sheets as a track or channel.
    2. No hands can touch the ball directly.
    3. team members must coordinate to move and adjust their sheets to keep the ball rolling—like a human conveyor belt.
    4. if the ball drops, the team must pick it up and start again from the point of the drop.
  5. first team to get their ball to the last person in line wins!
